I recently swapped with the oh-so-lovely Kimberley who lives in Australia. And like every other country on the planet, Australia has its own brands of cosmetics. She sent along quite a few goodies but I count myself especially lucky to have been introduced to this specific little gem from the brand Australis.
This palette is one of the Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Eye Shadow, apparently also just known as PP HD which certainly is much easier to use than the full title. The compact is pretty weighty with a mirror and five eye shadows. I have Snap Attack, which includes a very pale golden beige, a slightly peach champagne, a golden orange, a silver, slightly reddish, brown and a smoky charcoal with a brown undertone. This palette is a great combination of warm and cool shades, the warm shades not being too orange and the cool shades not being too grey. As much as I love orange colored eye shadows, they’re not the easiest for me to wear because of my skintone. However, this particular shade works well on me.
The eye shadows themselves are of a very good quality. They’re all very smooth, silky and blend easily. They’re pigmented with the exception of the pale golden beige but that’s more likely just a function of the shade. They have a very creamy base which can sometimes make the powder clump up but that’s easily fixed with a bit of extra blending.
This palette retails for $15.95 AUD which is a little less than $17 USD. A tad on the high end compared with US drugstore beauty brands but not excessive.
