Last spring I posted about my favorite five green shadows and I meant for that post to continue with my favorite shadows in various colors. Of course, I got sidetracked by other things and never thought to continue with that series of posts.
Here it is, spring again, and it occurs to me to finally continue and this time with my five favorite shades of pink.
Pink is one of my all-time favorite colors, although for a long time it wasn’t a color I wore often on my eyelids. I think it took me some time to find shades that I really liked and that didn’t make me look sick. Pink has the tendency to enhance redness so it’s definitely a color I don’t wear if I haven’t gotten enough sleep the time before. Pink is also a color, along with light yellow and green, that makes me think most of springtime. And for spring, I prefer lighter, softer and more shimmering shades of pink.

CoverGirl Forever Pink: No one was more surprised than I was that I like this product, not to mention the color. It’s a very, and I stress the word very, frosty baby pink. It’s a much warmer-toned pink than I expected based on the color in the tube, and has a very subtle peach undertone.
Urban Decay Sphynx: Sadly discontinued, this color has lots of pigmentation and even more glitter and I love it. A bright silvery pink, Sphynx has lots of both fine and chunky silver glitter. This works best worn by itself and anything else tends to compete with it’s intense pink glitter goodness.
Bobbi Brown Ballet Pink: The warmest of my favorite pinks, Ballet Pink is a very subtly shimmering soft peach pink. And the name is very fitting as it reminds me so much of ballet slippers. In fact, my mom has a pair from her ballet days that look just like this color.
Heavenly Naturals Cutie Pie: This is just a fun pink eye shadow. I feel so girly and silly when I wear it. It’s a blue-toned bright pink, almost a deep cotton candy shade, with brighter pink and silver shimmer. In the right light, it takes on a slight blue-violet tint.
MAC Swish: I’ve mentioned many times in the past that Swish is my favorite of MAC’s pink eye shadows. I’ve purchased this color a handful of times over the years and I never tire of it. It’s a mid-tone cool pink with a slightly violet undertone and lots of frost and pigmentation. The shimmer in this one almost gives it a slight shine. It somehow works well with just about every other color and I wear it often with shades of brown and gray.
Anyone try these colors? Love them? Hate them? What are your favorite pinks for spring? Let me know!
