“Pigment Pick” is a series of entries that will feature the MAC Pigments I own. At least one Pigment will be posted, or “picked”, every month (or more often if I can swing it) and I will try to share whatever Pigment colors I own, almost all of which are samples. A lot of them will be limited edition, but you can try Makeupalley to find them.
Entremauve is a bit of a deceiver. It appears an almost black, very intense royal purple in the jar, but applies as a much less intense blue-tinted purple with blue-violet and pink sparkles. I know that lots of folks complain about the level of the pigmentation, but it’s decent to me. I’m slightly disappointed that Entremauve fails to apply as intensely right out of the jar as it looks, but that’s easily rectified by applying the shadow with a dampened brush.
My big issue with Entremauve isn’t in its color, which is gorgeous, but in its staying power. I’m unsure why, but this color fades within a few hours. The pretty sparkles fall from my eyelids to the tops of my cheeks or right beneath my eyes. The color slowly disappears until a coal-ish purple remains.
Pairing suggestions: Cranberry, Dark Soul Pigment, Deep Truth, Freshwater, Satellite Dreams, Satin Taupe
Have a suggestion for the next MAC Pigment to be featured? Let me know!
